Midland Heart's HR team were delighted to win the award for ‘Best Wellbeing Initiative (Public Sector)’ at the CIPD People Management Awards 2022 held in London last week. The award recognises the social landlord’s work to create a safe and inclusive environment for their whole workforce, during the pandemic.

Executive Director of Corporate Resources, Bal Kang, said:

“At Midland Heart, we proudly strive to foster a safe and supportive working environment, where individuals feel included, valued, and empowered to reach their full potential. The pandemic posed a challenge to this during a period when colleague wellbeing was more important than ever.

We quickly developed a wellbeing strategy that supported our diverse workforce who were adapting to new ways of working and living. Through regular communication, training, reward and adapting our wellbeing activities, our colleagues continued to perform at their best, maintaining service delivery for customers throughout the pandemic.”

The Talent and Communication team were also highly commended in the ‘Best Resourcing Initiative’ category for their work to attract new colleagues to their In-House Maintenance Team in an extremely challenging recruitment environment.
