It’s important for us to support Purple Tuesday, along with many other organisations of all sizes and from all sectors, with the common goal of improving the customer experience for disabled people.
As a proud Disability Confident Employer, we know creating an environment which is disability inclusive supports the services we provide to our disabled customers. Some of the ways we do this include:
- Listening to our disabled colleagues
We work with Liberty, our internal disability network, who continually help us to improve disability inclusion within our organisation. For example, Liberty work closely with our recruitment team and their insight has helped to improve the reasonable adjustments we offer disabled candidates during assessments.
- Supporting our line managers
Liberty have also launched our line managers guide to disability inclusion. This includes links to useful policies, procedures and blogs all helping our line managers to better support our disabled colleagues.
In addition to the above, we’ve also committed to developing eLearning for all colleagues on Disability Inclusion to improve awareness. This will also cover invisible disabilities and mental health.
We know we still have more to do and we’re committed to improving disability inclusion for our colleagues and our customers.
